Iroquois Lacrosse stuck in neutral

The odd/sad story of the Iroquois Lacrosse team drags on. You can read about it in todays Herald.

Basically there is a lot of beaurocratic politics going on and the victims here are the Iroquois Lacrosse team, ranked 4th in the world. Due to the delays/possible never happenings of the situation, the team has already missed its first game and its looking like they’ll miss at least their second game.

Of course you could say that the Iroquois have made this a big media circus by refusing a Canadien or American passport to play. You could say that the Iroquois should have updated their passport system long ago so that they could travel under their own passports.

I guess there’s two sides to every story but it’s sad that the World’s Premiere Lacrosse Event is missing one of its Premiere teams.

What do you think? Sound off in the comments section…

The passports issued by the Haudesonne should be honored as an indigenous sovereign nation. The treaties have been existence since the Revolutionary wars and the violations have continued forcenturies too. As a US citizen I am embarrassed that it continues even today. That said the native people should be given the necEssary funding to update and make secure their current passports to meet today’s challenges. Stop Arguing and begin cooperating with respect!

If you can’t afford to update your passport system perhaps you shouldn’t claim to be a sovereign nation. Thats like my kids claiming to be adults but living in my house and having me pay their bills.
