Jello legs? The man still found ups

What’s good Cannons fans? The last three weeks have been sooo busy, but pretty fun at the same time. I think I’ve either worked played or partied in about 10 states in the last 3 weeks. Needless to say this lifestyle has drained almost all the life outta me. My legs felt like jello by the beginning of the 2nd half of the last game. It’s a good thing that we clinched home field advantage with our big win at Denver, because we didn’t play too well in that second half against the Bayhawks. Thankfully, we have two weeks to rest and recover!

Casey needed more than a cat-nap after the last couple weeks

Sunday was a travel day for me (Blog note: read what Casey had to say about travel in an earlier blog post here) and Monday all I did was sleep. Today, I woke up at 5am and went to the gym for some 6am hoops. We play just about every morning in the Cuse at the downtown YMCA. I’ve found that working out in the morning is a great way start a day off.. A banana and a bottle of water when I wake up gets the metabolism going. I’m planning on going back to the gym around 3pm for a weights work out.
I can’t wait for Championship Weekend! I wanna be physically and mentally ready to win a championship. This is all I’m thinkin about for the next two weeks. BTW… Everyone reading this should make plans to come cheer and chill with us down in Annapolis. We’re gunna need all the help we can get!

Cannons fans what’s crackalackin?
Sooooo we’re 2-0!!! That’s kinda what’s up right now.

Somethings been bothering Matt Casey

But before I get into last Saturday’s game, there’s a little something that has been bothering me for a while now. It’s a situation that I used to laugh at, but am starting to get really annoyed with. Every weekend, I have to fly from Syracuse to Beantown or where ever our game is. I love flying, so that part of the story is allllll  good. I don’t know how many of you guys reading this are frequent flyers, but when i plane lands and finally stops at the gate there is usually a short wait (which can be as long as 10 min) until the passengers are allowed off the plane. At this time, while we’re all waiting to get off, I’m usually just chillin in my seat, makin a phone call, listenin to music… u know CHILLIN. The funny thing is that there are people who, even though the door isn’t open and noone is getting off the plane yet, just feel the need to stand up as if that’ll get them off the plane quicker. I’ve always found this to be comical, especially when these “standers” are just standing in an aisle that is crammed with people and about 5ft 8in tall and 1ft wide for 10 min… I swear if you think about how silly it is, its hillarious….. BUT…. there has been a recent trend developing with “standers” on airplanes. They aren’t just standing anymore.

Where's everyone think they're going?

Their standing up tactic apparently wasn’t working well enough, so in an attempt to help their efforts of getting off the plane, the “standers” have began to move up the isle, passing people that have intelligently declined to excercise their right to stand on an airplane for no reason. Again, I’m a really laid back type of person, and prolly wouldn’t care at all if these people wanted to go ahead, but the sense of achievement they get when they stand up and move pass someone like me who’s sitting down, coupled with the idiotic intensity they complete this mission with bothers the **** out of me! Next time I think I’m going to start stick my legs out in the aisle from now on just to spite all the “standers” behind me.
All you “standers” watch out…. I’m plotting a way to sabatoge your creepy pass by move…

Casey is predicting a Cannons win against the Lizards

FEWWW ! With that off my chest… We dominated another game on Saturday, beating the Chichago Machine by a score of 17-15… Like last week the score was not indicative of how we dictated the game. There was a 5 min stretch in the fourth quarter where the guys lost focus and Chicago made a semi-comeback. These were the games that we would end up losing last year, but this year when we let a lead slip we figure out ways to catch it before its too late. This Boston Cannons team is realllly good… I’m tell you guys we’re gunna do some big things this year!  We got L.I. this thursday in NY (holla). We should be 3-0 at the end of the week….
– It’s ya boy Matt Casey and I’m out….
ps. over 10,000 fans were at the game last Saturday…. Don’t be the only one of your friends that didn’t see us play next time
Next home game is on June 12th 7p.m. against Denver

Cannons fans…. Whats poppin?
Sooo, I dont know if you came to the game or not, but we picked up our first win of the season last Saturday. Beat the Outlaws 16-13. Although the score was definitely not a good representation of how much we dominated the game. Offensively, guys were playing at a fast pace and sharing the ball. Defensively, we played very physical and only had a few minor hick-ups. I was very impressed at how well our team gelled being that there are so many new players on our team and it was the first game of the season. Just think… we dominated a team that went to the championship game last year without the reigning MLL MVP. BTW, I can’t wait for Paul to get back. He brings so much to our team. Watch out y’all… we bout to do some thangs!
Hopefully, in next week’s blog I’ll be talking about how we’re 2-0 !

Matt Casey aka Sizzle is entering his second season with the Cannons after being one of just 6 players to appear in every game for the Cannons last year

Then from five thousand throats and more there rose a lusty yell;
It rumbled through the valley, it rattled in the dell;
It pounded on the mountain and recoiled upon the flat,
For Casey, mighty Casey, was advancing to the [lax].
Cannons fans, what’s goody? Since this is my first blog of the year I’m going to keep it simple. I’m pretty focused on the first game of the year… DENVER this Saturday baby!!! I can’t wait!! For those who don’t remember denver was the team that knocked us out of the playoffs last year. I’m thinkin a little payback is definitely in order…

Casey is like the Kindergarten cop but with a lax stick

Other than the upcoming game, I’ve actually been keepin it low key lately. I am a middle school teacher during the year, so this blog might be rated G until the school year is over.

Forget letter writing, communicate with Casey through some 21st Century technology like Facebook or Twitter

One thing I want to do with this blog is interact with you guys (fans or haters). I’d love to hear what you guys are thinkin about the season, players, or just whatever is on your mind. Soooo, if you respond to my blogs, or hit me up via Twitter or facebook, I’ll definitely get you in the next blog And address whatever you got goin on…
Holla back!
